Thank you so much for visiting this website, and a special welcome for visitors from the BH14 area who are here because of the leaflet drop! (There are some treacherous garden paths out there ;) ) We hope you have enjoyed reading the free booklet that was distributed throughout the summer, all around the harbour. Moving into winter, we now have a 2025 calendar with beautiful images to enjoy throughout the year, and the smaller handier version is now available in addition to the fuller, hardback version of "Seagulls & Secrets". They are all available to purchase. Just click on "The Bookstore" tab. You can also have a preview of the book, just click on "The Biblet" tab. Do also check back to find out how you can buy from a bookshop, that will be updated as and when. If you would like to join our E- mailing for future news and updates, just sign up here! We are so pleased to announce that “The Torch Challenge" will be available soon. Within the pages of “The Torch Challenge” we dive into the adventure of the Allied invasion of French North Africa. It’s 1942, and the world is in the thick of the Second World War, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time for a bit of fun! Operation Torch was the first large-scale airborne assault carried out by the United States. Meet Sam as he takes us from pre-war France to the wineries of California, the airfields of Lincolnshire, war-time London and on to the Mediterranean theatre of war. Also meet, the American General Dwight D. Eisenhower, he’s the supreme commander with a plan, and he’s orchestrating a three-pronged attack that’s as audacious as it is brilliant. The Allies are coming to seize Vichy-led North Africa from Admiral François Darlan and they mean business! Buckle-up for a history book you never knew you needed, filled with wit, humour and a dash of good old-fashioned adventure! This is a novel based on facts and personal accounts, written by Ian Foster Thorn, with a wealth of experience in aviation and West and North Africa.
